Biography
Zahira Soul
“A Pure Soul Songstress…”
In the 80′s Zahira Soul was born and raised in Canada as a gospel choir soprano and as she grew older her family moved to the USA where she became more focused on refining her natural talent. At the age of 15 she became the front woman of her first band and from then on she has pursued her career as a writer and band leader. She studied Jazz Vocals and performance in College and has independently trained in Indian Classical Vocals, Sound Healing, Performance, Dance & West African Drumming.
Zahira Soul’s pure, powerful voice has received positive and raving reviews from fans and critics around the globe. Her eccentric style and positive lyrics have made a unique and powerful impact upon her listeners. Zahira Soul radiates pure light and positive energy on stage and will bring you on a journey beyond time and space. I have heard no voice like hers but to give you an idea, some say her stylistic tone is a mix between Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu, Christina Agulara, Sheila Chandra and Norah Jones.
Over the past few years Zahira has toured to Israel twice sharing her musical gift with fans and new listeners all over the country. This year (2011) she also completed her first limited edition EP, “Resonate”, and will be finishing two more full-length albums of her original music in 2012.
Besides performing, Zahira has also written songs for films & commercials. Her latest recording was for a movie partnered with SONY movie productions on child abuse. Her original music will be featured along with Beyonce, Stevie Wonder and Mary J. Blidge. This film will be released in theaters all over the globe in the upcoming year of 2012.
